The Good News about Jesus Christ

The Fact:
All have sinned.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
(Romans 3:23)

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.
(Romans 3:10)

The Problem: The penalty is eternal death in Hell.

For the wages [reward, or penalty] of sin is death.
(Romans 6:23a)

The Problem Worsens: We are incapable of escaping the penalty apart from the work of Another. Good works are not enough for entrance to Heaven. We must be righteous.

Man is not justified by the works of the law.
(Galatians 2:16)

Man's Plight Summarized: We all have sinned. There is a penalty for sin; it is death. Entrance to heaven requires perfect righteousness, something none of us can attain in this world.

God's Solution: Jesus Christ, our substitute, paid the penalty for sin in full on the Cross, and now provides ("imputes") righteousness to our account. All we must do is accept this free gift in believing faith.

But God commendeth [demonstrated] his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
(Romans 5:8)

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(John 3:16)

Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness.
James 2:23b

You too can receive this free gift! You can come to God in faith on the merits of His Son and be saved from your sin. He has already paid the penalty and is ready to impute His righteousness to you.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
(Hebrews 11:6)

[The Scripture says] that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
(Romans 10:9-10,13)
